Description

SPATIPHILLUM MARTINA
VP/17 H= 80/90 CM

The Spathiphyllum, from the Greek “spatha” meaning sword and “phyllon” meaning leaf, includes about 30 tropical species with an elegant shape. Their distinguishing feature is the complete lack of a stem: the leaves grow directly from an underground rhizome.

It belongs to the Araceae family and is an evergreen plant native to the tropical areas of America, Colombia and Venezuela, growing along the edges of ponds and streams. It produces unique white flowers that can last several weeks, turning green before completely wilting.

The Spathiphyllum Martina® variety is a registered Floramiata trademark, produced through meristematic multiplication in their internal research lab.

According to a NASA study, the Spathiphyllum is highly effective at purifying indoor air. It is an excellent ally in the fight against common volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as benzene, formaldehyde, and trichloroethylene, and is also effective against toluene and xylene.
