It is a perennial evergreen climbing plant native to Mexico<\/strong>, where it can reach a height of up to 20 meters. Commercially, it is associated with the Philodendron, from which it differs due to its distinct inflorescence. It is the ideal plant for homes, highly decorative and requiring minimal care.<\/p>\n

The leaves exhibit the phenomenon of heterophylly, meaning the presence of leaves of different shapes on the same plant, depending on their age. Many species of Monstera in their juvenile stage are hard to distinguish, as all the leaves have an elongated-ovate shape with a sharp apex and entire margins, with perforations (holes) only appearing in the adult plants, allowing light, air, and humidity to pass through to the lower levels of the plant.<\/p>\n
